Governor To Speak On Statewide Disability Employment Campaign
Gov. Dennis Daugaard is scheduled to speak on the Department of Human Services’ disability employment campaign, “Ability for Hire” at the third annual University of South Dakota (USD) Center for Disabilities Symposium on April 19th.
Employers, human resources managers, persons connected to the world of disabilities, individuals with disabilities and their families, non-profits, South Dakota government employees, tribal members, students, and service providers are scheduled to attend.
“Ability for Hire” was born out of the Employment Works taskforce established by Gov. Dennis Daugaard in 2013 with the goal to make South Dakota an “employment first” state that focused on increasing employment of people with disabilities.
“Ability for Hire” is a campaign that is designed to deliver information, outreach and resources to businesses, job seekers and the public workforce system to ensure greater recruiting and hiring opportunities for job candidates with disabilities. For more information, visit AbilityForHire.com.
The 2016 USD Center for Disabilities Symposium will be held April 17-19 at the Sheraton Hotel & Convention Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.
